Lle Aeth Pawb? Jabas

Tuesday 11 May, 20:25 S4C

Stop Press! The first series of Jabas will be shown again on S4C between May 10-14 at 18.30.

At the end of the eighties, only one series took the fancy of Welsh youth - JABAS! But what happened to Jabas, Picsi, Glenda and the rest of the crew?

A special edition of ‘Lle Aeth Pawb’ answers that question as Jabas Jones (actor Owain Gwilym) and his mates are brought together again to retake the above photo – twenty years after the original was taken!

This photo of the cast was snapped in 1987 but there are masses of Jabas-lovers all over the country who remember the image as if they’d only seen it yesterday!

Jabas made a strong and lasting impact on the Welsh audience. Jabas was the first soap opera for young people on Welsh-language television. The fans - most of them girls (!) – still fondly remember the crew’s capers!

Member of The Owain Gwilym Appreciation Society talk about the impression that Jabas made on them as we look back at some of the series’ highlights.

As the actors are brought together for a one-off reunion we learn how the show impacted their lives. Some of them were turned into stars overnight – how did they handle the fame?
